Arthritis Research UK is the charity that is leading the fight against arthritis, a condition that affects more than 10 million people in the UK alone. We are dedicated to taking the pain away for sufferers of all forms of arthritis by funding high-class research, providing information and campaigning.

We are a charity with ambitious plans, including doubling our income, significantly increasing the breadth of our research efforts, and ensuring that more people with arthritis remain active and free from pain. We are already well on the way to putting into place the organisational and research structures that will enable the realisation of our goals and strategies.

A key current priority is to add two new members to our exceptional board of trustees. We are looking for individuals who can bring insight, talent and passion to our board; one or both will have experience of arthritis as a long-term patient. For one position the charity is specifically seeking an individual who will bring fundraising expertise most likely gained in a significant not-for-profit organisation.

We seek results in the fight against a condition that touches the lives of millions of people. If you’d like to know more about us and about the role of a trustee, please contact our employment agency advisors, Saxton Bampfylde at www.saxbam.com/jobs using reference YARC. Alternatively, email YARC@saxbam.com. If you do not have access to the internet or email, please telephone +44 (0)20 7227 0890 during office hours.

Applications should arrive not later than noon on Tuesday 9 November 2010.
